A driver who can see where a lap was lost wants to drive another one. VenueChief’s sim racing lap analysis software records each kept lap on the rig and gives the driver a track map, traces and plain-language findings in My Laps.
Sim racing lap analysis software that starts at the rig
A driver climbs out of the rig with a lap time and a question: why was my friend four tenths quicker? A results screen lists times. It does not say which corner.
VenueChief’s lap analysis software answers that question. A recorder inside Sim Commander on each rig captures the lap, and the driver opens it in My Laps, in the lap analyzer, shortly after leaving the car. When the faster lap has been shared with the driver or published by the venue, the map shows where the gap opened.
What is new: every kept lap, opened in an analyzer
- Recording on the rig. Laps are recorded in sessions launched through VenueChief, so each one belongs to a booking and a session, and to a driver whenever the guest is identified. Inputs, speed and position are sampled 50 times a second, and temperatures, pressures, wear and fuel 10 times a second. Laps driven by the game’s AI, paused, replayed or reset are never recorded.
- My Laps. Laps are grouped by visit, with sector times, personal best badges and an “ideal” lap stitched from the driver’s best pieces of track.
- A track map that shows time. The map is colored by where the driver gained or lost time against the lap they chose to compare with.
- Traces on one cursor. Delta time, speed, throttle, brake, steering and gear move together, with a car display that shows the pedals, steering wheel, gear and speed at that point on the lap.
- Findings in plain words. Twelve measured rules, such as braking early, no trail braking, coasting, late throttle and wheelspin, are ranked by the time at stake. A corner table lists the braking distance, slowest speed and exit speed for each corner.
Book a demo and we will walk through the analyzer, from the track map to the findings.
Three levels, from a glance to pro
Racing telemetry can overwhelm a guest, so the analyzer has three levels. Simple shows the time delta, one trace and the findings, and reads in seconds. Detailed is the default and adds the corner and lap tabs. Pro lets the driver choose which traces to show from the channels the analyzer charts, such as RPM, lateral and longitudinal G, yaw rate and fuel, recolor the map by speed, pedals or gear, and switch the axis between distance and time.
Compare with the lap that matters
Lap comparison is where the analyzer earns its keep. A driver can compare with their personal best, a “next step” lap a little faster than their own, a coach’s reference lap, or the venue’s record, which is the fastest lap published for that track and car. Corners are found automatically for each track layout, and your staff can name and adjust them in Admin Shell. Without a mapped layout, the map and traces still work.
An AI driving coach held to the lap’s measurements
After a stint, the AI coach turns the findings for the driver’s best valid lap into a short debrief: one main focus, up to two more, what went well and a target to try. It needs a lap to compare with, so a first lap on a track and car is compared only if your venue has a faster lap published or shared for it.
Numbers in a debrief are checked against the lap’s measurements. A debrief that fails the check is replaced by the same findings written from templates. If AI is off or your monthly allowance is used up, drivers still get the findings. Each person reads their laps in metric or imperial, as they choose.
Share a lap without an account
A driver can share a lap with a link or a QR code. It works without an account, lasts 7 days, 30 days, a year or until the driver stops it, and can be revoked at once. A shared lap is read-only. A minor’s laps are shared only from the guardian’s account, under the racer name.
What the venue controls
In Admin Shell, Race Results, Laps & Telemetry, you choose what to keep: Off, Minimal, Essentials (the default), Complete, or your own windows. A driver’s current personal best on each track and car never expires. Essentials also keeps each session’s best lap for a year and every lap for 30 days.
Staff see recorder health for every rig, review and name corners, and publish reference laps. You also decide whether drivers can make laps public or share them with the same booking.
One lap, start to finish
A guest’s session starts through VenueChief and they drive. They leave the car, and shortly after, the lap is in My Laps. They open it against their best and see that braking for Turn 4 starts early. The AI coach points to the same corner in a short debrief and offers a target. If the driver accepts it, every new lap is checked against it.
Who it suits
Sim racing lap analysis software suits centers with regulars, leagues and time-attack nights, and venues with a coach. The words are lap-timing words: personal best, sector, braking point and apex.
What it changes on a busy week
- A driver sees why a lap was slower, not only that it was.
- A conversation at the desk starts from a map, not a guess.
- A coach can start a lesson from the driver’s own lap.
Availability and fine print
Lap analysis is included with Sim Racing Ops. See pricing. It needs lap recording switched on for your venue, a track layout set up for each track you run, and the latest Sim Commander on your rigs. It is working and ready for its first venue: we have used it extensively in our own test environment, and we set it up with you.
We would rather you know the limits. Not every lap is captured: AI, paused, replayed and reset laps are not recorded, nor is the out-lap before the first line crossing. rFactor 2 is the title we have tested most. Le Mans Ultimate uses the same game reader, the original Assetto Corsa has its own, and we check each title on your rigs with you.
Laps appear shortly after the driver leaves the car, not while they drive. The analyzer and its template debriefs are in English only today. There is no file export, no comparison with other customers’ venues, no setup advice and no karting or GPS laps. Tire, brake temperature and suspension channels are not charted yet.
