A driver who leaves with one clear thing to work on has a reason to come back and work on it. VenueChief’s sim racing coaching software gives venues a coach directory, a Coach Desk for lessons and targets, and an AI coach that writes a debrief after each recorded session.
Sim racing coaching software that works between visits
A driver finishes a session with a lap time on the screen and a good intention. By the next visit the intention is gone, and the coach, if you have one, only sees the driver for the hour they pay for.
Sim racing coaching software should keep the lesson going after the driver leaves the rig. VenueChief’s coaching tools sit on top of the Lap Analyzer: the driver’s laps, a coach’s notes, a measurable target and an AI debrief, all on your own website.
What is new: a directory, a desk and an AI coach
- A Coaches page. List your driving coaches with a bio, specialties and languages. Staff can add any account on your site as a coach, and independent coaches can apply on the website when you allow it. You approve or decline each application.
- Sharing on the driver’s terms. A driver picks a coach and shares their laps for 30 days, 90 days, a year or until they switch it off. Coaches see laps and progress, never contact details or payments. The driver also decides whether the coach may add notes and set targets.
- A Coach Desk. Each student’s last lap, 30-day trend and open targets, with a short list of who needs attention: no faster in 30 days despite regular driving, a share ending within 7 days, or no lap recorded for a month. Those are fixed rules, not AI.
- Notes pinned to the lap. A coach adds a note at a point on the lap. It shows as a numbered pin on the track map and the traces, and the driver can reply.
- Targets and lessons. A coach sets lap targets, which are measurable goals such as the slowest speed in a corner, the exit speed, the braking point, the throttle point or the lap time. A lesson holds one to three focus points and a drill.
Book a demo and we will walk through a lesson from share to target.
A lesson, start to finish
- The driver picks a coach on your Coaches page and shares their laps for 90 days.
- The coach opens the latest session in the analyzer, pins a note at the braking point for Turn 4, and sets a target for the slowest speed in that corner.
- Every new valid lap from that driver on that track is checked against the target automatically. By default it counts as done when it is met on three laps in one session, and the coach can change that number.
- The coach writes a lesson and sends it. The driver gets an email and finds the lesson in My Account.
The AI coach between lessons
After a session, the AI driving coach writes a short debrief: one main thing to work on, up to two more, what went well, and a suggested target the driver can set from the debrief. The findings behind it are measured from the lap, and a check rejects any measurement the lap did not produce. A debrief that fails the check is replaced by the same findings in plain words.
A coach can ask the AI to draft a lesson from a lap, edit every line and send it, and the driver is told when AI helped. You set a monthly AI allowance for the venue. When it runs out, drivers still get the measured findings.
Live coaching in the rig (early access)
A coach can watch a student who is in a session on a rig. Laps arrive one at a time, and the coach can send a short message to the driver’s overlay: five quick buttons such as “Brake later” and “Box this lap”, or up to 80 characters of text.
On supported rigs the overlay can also play a tone at the braking point of up to two focus corners, speak a short call before the corner when the AI debrief has planned one, and say whether the target was met at the exit. It stays quiet in the pit lane and after an off. Races are silent unless you turn them on.
Drivers choose Off, Markers (brake-point tones) or Spoken tips under Coaching options in My Laps. Your default is Off, so nothing is spoken until a driver or a watching coach turns it on. In the game overlay settings, under Live Coaching, you choose tones, spoken calls, on-screen cards, volume and an optional seat pulse for rigs with a SimVibe seat.
This part is built and tested with simulated laps, so we verify it on your own rig with you before you rely on it. It needs the current Sim Commander release.
Who it suits
Sim racing coaching software suits centers with regulars and leagues, venues that employ a racing coach, and independent coaches who want a place to meet students. As driver coaching software it speaks in coaching words: students, lessons, focus corners, braking points and targets.
What it changes on a busy week
- A coach opens a student’s last session before the lesson, not during it.
- A target is checked on every lap, not by memory.
- A driver with a recorded session and a reference lap gets a clear next step even in a week with no coach booked.
Availability and fine print
Coaching is part of Sim Racing Ops. See pricing. It needs lap recording on your rigs, which is built for rFactor 2, Le Mans Ultimate and the original Assetto Corsa and is ready for its first venue. The lap analyzer story has the limits.
VenueChief does not take payment for coaching, set coach rates or show a coach’s calendar. The Coaches page can link to a booking page you choose. Applications from independent coaches are off until you switch them on.
There are no push alerts. A driver is emailed a lesson, but a met target or a reply shows on the Coach Desk, so a coach has to open it. Coaches work on your website, not in Admin Shell. A driver under 18 cannot start sharing alone, and the website has no guardian screen for it yet. Karting, video review and setup advice are not part of coaching today.
