How to host sim racing events and tournaments people talk about on Monday.

Sim racing events

A sim racing event is three things at once: a race for the people driving, a show for the people watching, and a result everyone takes home. Here is how to run each part.

The events that fill a sim racing center

  • Birthday parties. A package with the drivers included, then a per-head price.
  • Company nights and team building. A private event built in four steps with the quote in front of you, up to booking out the whole venue.
  • Tournaments. Open entry, a leaderboard and prizes by rank.
  • League nights. A multi-round championship contest with standings across the season.

Start every rig at once

A group race launches on several rigs together, on one game server, in one step. rFactor 2 and Assetto Corsa run today.

Seen enough to want to see it running?

Thirty minutes on your own numbers, in a demo branded for your venue.

Pick how the contest is scored

Contest types: hotlap, championship, time challenge, endurance (most laps) and team battle. Score it by best lap, average of the fastest laps, total points, total laps, or consistency across the fastest laps, so a steady first-timer can beat a fast driver who crashes twice. Set prizes by rank. The leaderboard shows on your venue screens and your website.

Give the people watching something to watch

The Live Race screen puts live timing on any venue screen: a standings tower, and a caption that says who is on camera and why. Display zones decide which rigs’ race each screen follows. A spectator station, a PC that joins the race only to show it, never takes a bookable seat. Live video and race sound on the screen are not available yet; they arrive with the next Sim Commander update, and we will say so here when they do.

Send everyone home with something

Group leaderboards hand out awards on their own (Champion, runner-up and third, Fastest Lap, Most Improved, Most Consistent, Most Laps), with a certificate for everyone in the group.

What it doesn’t do yet

  • There is no sim league module like our karting series. A multi-round championship contest covers most league nights.
